## DNA. presents "Online Writers Session"

### an Open Platform to connect, share & grow. Together.

> In this context, "Online Writers Session" means we are bringing in different writing styles and helping each other improve through drafting, receiving and giving feedback. Showcase the best version of Your writing, as we provide a Shared Space for Writing of all kinds (including prose, poetry, essay's etc. ) and for Writers of all Levels.

### Writers of all kinds & all Styles are welcome.

This workshop is all about bringing storytellers, poets, writers, essayists, screenwriters and creative minds into a shared online space where they can draft each-others work and receive positive as well as critical feedback in an encouraging manner.

Online Session Facilitated Via Google Meet.

#### DRAFTING GUIDELINES:

• Encouraging feedback.

> “This and this was great, do more of it. I would also work on this etc.”

• We could be working with sensitive pieces.
• Include trigger warnings.
• Creating a safe space to encourage vulnerable.

#### STRUCTURE:

Each week, participants can sign up to present their work.
It’s important that we know who will be presenting at least 1-2 days in advance.
If it is your first time it is important to sign up so you can be added to the Online Session on Google Meets in due time.

##### ‍PARTICIPANTS:

• 4-6 people presenting their drafts
• 12 people giving feedback

##### ‍

##### TIMEBREAKS:

• TOTAL PER PERSON: 20 minutes
• 5 minutes for reading and explaining the intention behind the text
• 5 minutes for individual drafting (putting ink to paper)
• 5-10 minutes for feedback

Each author receives 12 copies of their draft with written feedback at the end.

TOTAL SESSION TIME: 20 minutes x 6 people = 1 hour 20 minutes
±10 minutes depending on the length of each draft.
There will be a 5-minute break after 45 minutes.

#### **WHAT TO BRING:**‍

Participants can bring drafts of any kind—poetry, prose, spoken word, etc.
‍

#### STEPS TO JOIN:

1. Sign up to present Your work.

Only 6 presentation slots are available per session.
2. Sign up as a feedback giver.

Attendees who give feedback will receive priority to present their work in the next session.‍
3. Sign the "statutory declaration" in regards to plagiarism and confidentiality.

Attendees must sign this document so we can ensure that no authorship is plagiarised and re-produced without consent.
