Little Yusuf often accompanies his father, the beekeeper Yakup, when he sets up his beehives in the deep, untouched forests of Turkey's Black Sea region to extract the famous black honey. He attentively learns the secrets of nature, whispering as he overcomes the stammer that makes him an outsider at school. When an inexplicable bee death plagues the area, Yakup sets off to set up his beehives in a remote mountainous region. Days pass and Yakup is still not back.
