In the organizer's words:

The depot is opening its doors again for the harbor walk, this time on the theme of "water". Come along and discover the building in all its facets and aggregate states. We have prepared workshops, guided tours, open studios and the one or other extra for you. At the same time, we are showing the exhibition "Falls of Water" by Frankfurt artists Marcel Appel, Linda Enseroth and Talida Hölting in the central hall. The artists will be exploring water in and around the building and presenting the results in the form of a multimedia installation.

Porte aperte! The Italian Association welcomes you: Find out about language courses, test your language level, take part in the writing competition or design creative collages. Let yourself be inspired - in Italian and German!

Not only the artists, but also the cinema, theater and Nordstadtblogger editorial team cordially invite curious people to get to know their work and their spaces. Without a fixed program, you can stroll through the open doors, ask questions, get into conversation and discover who and what is hidden behind the walls of the depot.

Painting on water? Almost! Use whiteboard markers to create imaginative figures that then dance on the water. Experiment with colors, shapes and techniques - and be amazed at how your artwork comes to life!

Colors flow, drops dance, imagination bubbles: We draw, print, blot - and create imaginative worlds. Whether calm seas, stormy waves or mysterious water creatures - there are no limits to your imagination!

Paper marbling // 15:00 to 20:00 // Hall

Immerse yourself in the world of marbling: let colors float on the surface of the water and conjure up unique patterns on paper. The traditional technique of marbling is used to create unique works of art. Come along, try it out and take your work home with you!

Studio Visits Beyond Gravity at the Theater im Depot // 15:00 to 20:00 // Theater im Depot

Laura Cugusi and Nada Zanhour open their studio and give insights into their work in the residency programme Decolonizing the Digital. Discover what they are researching and get first insights into what will be shown at the Beyond Gravity Festival in October!

The Beyond Gravity Festival is a biennial festival for digital arts, dance and performance. In addition to a co-production and guest performance programme, this edition includes a residency programme and a symposium on the topic of "Decolonizing the Digital", in which we deal with the entanglement of digital technology and global power relations.

Making paper yourself? Of course! Create something new from waste paper, water and your creativity. Experiment with fiber pulp and scooping frames and get the recycling cycle going!

How does water become an artistic motif? Discover the exhibition "Falls of Water" and immerse yourself in exciting perspectives - in dialog with the artists!

From the studio to the canvas, from the stage to the photo studio - the Depot opens door after door on the guided tour. Artists, the cinema, the theater, the Nordstadtblogger editorial team and the photo studio will take you on a tour of the old streetcar workshop. Step by step, you will get to know the people, their work and the stories behind the scenes.

Hidden deep beneath the depot is an old air raid shelter with an exciting history. The short guided tour by Nordstadt blogger Alex Völkel provides insights into historical wall inscriptions and tells of forced labor during the Second World War. A rare glimpse into a piece of hidden history.

A look inside the hot furnace // 6:00 pm, 7:00 pm, 7:30 pm // Room M04

How is glass actually "cut" - like bread? Why doesn't it break when heated to 800 °C? And how do leaves or figures get into the middle of the glass? Depot artist Heide Kemper shows you how simple slices are turned into works of art. Take a look inside the hot oven, discover the technique of glass fusing and experience how glass takes on shape and color!
