Open Lab Abend: Futures Storytelling

In the organizer's words:

Learning to shape the future

The future is uncertain - but we can shape it. This Open Lab evening will show you how. You will get to know the Futures Storytelling method, which we use to make the future tangible and bring it to life. We will slip into the role of a person from the future and create a story from their perspective about what life could be like in 10, 20 or 50 years' time.

Futures storytelling is a futurology tool that helps to make complex challenges understandable and emotionally accessible - both professionally and privately. Because the future is what we make of it.

In terms of content, we will address the question of how agriculture can protect ecosystems and biodiversity.

Without agriculture, there would be no breakfast, no clothing, no furniture. It provides us with food, shapes landscapes and societies - but at the same time it contributes to the destruction of ecosystems and the loss of biodiversity. How can we reconcile the two?

In this workshop, we will take a look at agriculture in the year 2040:

  • How can we practice sustainable agriculture with limited resources?
  • How do agricultural production and the protection of ecosystems and biodiversity go together?
  • What social and political measures can promote biodiversity?

The event is part of the workshop series "Learning to shape futures", which takes place once a month as part of the Open Lab Evening. In a total of four modules, you will get to know well-founded methods of shaping the future, which you can put together to create your own individual future method kit.
