The future is uncertain - but we can shape it. This Open Lab evening will show you how. You will get to know the Futures Thinking method, a combination of futurology and design thinking. The aim is to identify and evaluate trends and combine them into desirable future scenarios.
Futures Thinking helps you to better understand the complex challenges of the future - both professionally and privately. Because the future is what we make of it!
In terms of content, we will be looking at the agriculture of the future.
Without it, there would be no breakfast, no clothing, no furniture. It provides us with food, shapes landscapes and societies - and yet it is under pressure: climate change, species extinction and soil depletion are jeopardizing its future. At the same time, it is itself part of these challenges. Politicians, researchers and practitioners are developing new solutions - from agroforestry and smart technologies to climate-resilient cultivation methods. We as consumers also have a role to play. Agriculture is at a turning point - and its future is now being negotiated.
In this workshop, we will take a look at agriculture and land use in 2040 in a region like Berlin and Brandenburg:
The event is part of the workshop series "Learning to shape futures", which takes place once a month as part of the Open Lab Evening. In a total of four modules, you will learn well-founded methods of shaping the future, which you can put together to create your own individual future method kit.
The Berlin Ideas Lab is a laboratory for transformation design. The team supports organizations in the design process of sustainable product and service innovations as well as desirable visions of the future using methods of futurology, design thinking and visual storytelling.
The future is for everyone! The Futurium wants to be accessible to everyone. If you have any other access needs, please let us know. We will try to fulfill them: info@futurium.de
