Open Lab Abend: Human Centered Design

In the organizer's words:

Learning to shape the future

The future is uncertain - but we can shape it. This Open Lab evening will show you how. You will learn about the Human Centered Design method, which enables us to tackle complex problems in a creative and solution-oriented way.

Human Centered Design puts people at the heart of the innovation process. The aim is to develop solutions that are really needed. In this workshop, we will dive deep into the issue, develop empathy for different perspectives and design initial prototypes for more climate-friendly agriculture.

In terms of content, we will address the question of how agriculture can become more climate-friendly without jeopardizing food security.
Agriculture is both a cause of and a victim of climate change. It must adapt in order to continue to ensure stable yields - and at the same time find ways to contribute to climate protection itself. The focus here is on approaches that are practicable, fair and sustainable.

In this workshop, we will look at agriculture in the year 2040:
- How can agriculture adapt to climatic changes?
- What political framework conditions and social changes are necessary?
- How can agriculture itself contribute to climate protection?

Together we will develop innovative ideas and design initial prototypes for sustainable agriculture.

The event is part of the workshop series "Learning to shape the future", which takes place once a month as part of the Open Lab Evening. In a total of four modules, you will get to know well-founded methods of shaping the future, which you can put together to create your own individual future method kit.

Workshop management:

The Berlin Ideas Lab is a laboratory for transformation design. The team supports organizations in the design process of sustainable product and service innovations as well as desirable visions of the future using methods of futurology, design thinking and visual storytelling.
