A whole new genre
With Oper weiß-blau, mezzo-soprano Franziska Rabl and the Holledauer Musikanten under the direction of Helmut Schranner present a completely new musical genre. In a unique concert, they succeed in fusing classical melodies from international opera and operetta literature with the golden sound of old Bavarian brass music culture.
Alphorn, cowbells and wooden spoons
Franziska Rabl gives a rousing performance of the opera's evergreens in a completely new way - including the use of non-operatic instruments such as alphorn, cowbells and wooden spoons. The specially arranged pieces by Peter Wittrich, a freelance composer and professor at the Munich University of Music, amaze the audience and promise an emotional classical experience. Franziska Rabl sings famous arias, including from George Bizet's "Carmen" and Giacomo Puccini's "Gianni Schicchi". The program also includes Franz "Lehár's The Merry Widow" as well as Ralph Benatzky's "Im weißen Rössl" and the musical "My Fair Lady" by Frederick Loewe. The Bavarian actor Stephan Leitmeier will lead the evening with charm and wit.
Internationally renowned brass band from Bavaria
The Holledauer Musikanten are appreciated for their well-tempered joy of playing and loved for their unique stage presence. As an authentic traditional brass band, they have performed all over the world. From Russia to Rimini, from Sydney to Sylt and from El Paso to the Pope's Mass. Under the direction of Helmut Schranner, culture prize winner of the district of Freising, the group has released several CDs and is a welcome guest on radio and television.
