The operas in Bavarian by Paul Schallweg (texts) and Friedrich Meyer (compositions and arrangements) are celebrating a big anniversary this year - the successful production has been a permanent fixture on the repertoire for 40 years now. The performances are an absolute cult - and almost always sold out! Opera with a difference: not sung, but spoken in genuine

Bavarian dialect, these opera parodies take well-known and popular operas and poke fun at them. The three Bavarian acting stars Gerd Anthoff, Conny Glogger and Michael Lerchenberg present these humorous, cheeky and charming reinterpretations of world-famous operas in an inimitable way, musically framed by percussionist Philipp Jungk and the "Musikensemble Opern auf Bayrisch" (members of the major Munich orchestras) under the direction of Alexander Kowalewitz.

Classics of opera literature and original dialect verses merge into an extremely entertaining treat full of wit and passion.
