Florentina Holzinger uses the stories of Ophelia's heiresses to create a gigantic spectacle in which 15 dancers train to be Ophelia: The embodiment of the laws surrounding them and the conscious satisfaction of strange fantasies are part of an ambivalent game of which she is the master. The narratives of her ancestors Leda, Melusine, Undine, the nymphs, nereids and sirens still shape female biographies today.
In an oceanic landscape full of cultural-historical references to water creatures and drowned strangers, OPHELIA'S GOT TALENT is not only about how to escape the precarious circumstances of a present characterized by climate catastrophes through training, but also about speculating on new life forms that transform these circumstances and bring forth new beings.
