As you like it - jocular, sensual, dramatic.

opia delves into the musical depths of this Shakespearean comedy of mistaken identity - merging literature from the Renaissance to the early Baroque in a humorous and playful way.

In this atmospheric program, the musicians interpret sensual songs and lively dances with vocals, recorders, viola da gamba, harpsichord and percussion instruments. In different instrumentations, they vary the timbres from intimate to magnificent chamber music and their own quodlibets.

With sophisticated arrangements and energetic rhythms, the five musicians from Cologne make it just as easy for their audience to listen devoutly as to dance exuberantly.

Straight off the street, Tovte was invited to play at a Jewish wedding in Cologne's synagogue. The birth of the band and the initial spark for a journey into the world of klezmer.

Since then, the five musicians have continued to develop and combine influences from jazz-manouche, ethno-pop, folk and classical music in their music, creating a unique style.
