OPUS 24 - Soundportraits aus 100 FEMALE VOICES bedeutender Künstlerinnen aus 100 Jahren Salzburger Festspiele

In the organizer's words:

AN AUDIOVISUAL PERFORMANCE WITH EXHIBITION

Martina Stock presents the walk-in audiovisual installation OPUS 24, which includes portraits of 24 female artists whose personalities and work have had a decisive influence on the Salzburg Festival in its 100 years of existence, both on and off stage. The selection of 24 artists from the "100 FEMALE VOICES" project was curated in view of their close connection to Berlin.

These include singing, instrumental music, composition, musical direction, acting, literature, costume and stage design. The significance of the artists Laura Aikin, Ingeborg Bachmann (1926-1973), Bibiana Beglau, Senta Berger, Annette Dasch, Anna Prohaska, Ulrike Folkerts, Elīna Garanča, Xenia Hausner, Anna Henckel-Donnersmarck, Rebecca Horn (1944-2014), Elfriede Jelinek, Sumi Jo, Ursina Lardi, Lotte Lehmann (1888-1976), Joana Mallwitz, Birgit Minichmayr, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Shirin Neshat, Olga Neuwirth, Stefanie Reinsperger, Johanna Terwin (1884-1962) and Ruth Walz are told symbiotically in a Gesamtkunstwerk.

Through this innovative composition, Stock's silkscreen - acrylic - painting enters into a new dialog with the musical score, creating a profound, multi-sensory experience.
Carried by the music, visitors walk through the exhibition. The composition emphasizes the effect of the motifs and opens up another level of perception for the viewer. They become part of a special world of sound and images that creates a deep connection between visual and auditory art.

Vernissage October 1, 2024, 7:00 pm

The vernissage will include a performance of the original composition 100 FEMALE VOICES with neo-harp and silkscreen painting.
