ORQUESTA SALSAMANIA
The band Salsamanía was founded in 1993 by pianist Eva Tilly. The international "Orquesta" is dedicated to traditional and modern Afro-Caribbean music: salsa (as the name suggests!) and Latin jazz.
In addition to classics by Eddie Palmieri, among others, the full-blooded musicians interpret the band leader's own compositions with great talent and temperament, which impress with the freshness of their arrangements and their authentic performance and give the band its unmistakable "sound". Their current program, which can also be heard on the new CD "The Offbeat of hearts- corazón síncopado", reflects their unadulterated, unique style.
The multinational troupe (from Cuba, Chile, Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador, the USA and Germany) expresses their untamed lust for life in an explosive mixture of rhythm, harmony, melody and dance in a humorous or dramatic way - in songs that deal with love and hate, longing and despair, jokes and pain.
Their consistently danceable program includes various rhythms that express the unbroken joie de vivre of the Caribbean: With mambo, cha-cha, bolero, guaguancó, bomba, Latin jazz and timba, they whisk the audience away to tropical flair- sometimes of past decades, sometimes of modern sounds, to infect them with their fever and live up to their name: with their "salsamania" they unleash a dance frenzy that is addictive.
