In an annotated reading, the Oskar Maria Graf Society presents an emigrated writer's view of post-war Germany. Oskar Maria Graf fled Nazi Germany in 1933 and made his way to New York in 1938 via stops in Vienna and Brno. Although he never returned to Germany, he followed the political situation and especially the democratization processes in his home country after the Second World War very closely and commented on them in many essays, speeches and letters.

In May 1945, the end of the Second World War set a new course in politics and society that still influences the way we live together today. The program "1945-2025 Zero Hour? How we became what we are." public-history-muenchen.de/news/1945-2025-stunde-null/ of the Munich Cultural Department would like to commemorate this with an extensive program of events.
