Johanne is a teenager. She has only ever known love from novels, which she devours with a hunger for life. That's why it hits her with particular force when she sees her new teacher Johanna for the first time and immediately falls head over heels in love with her, knowing full well that a relationship is out of the question. Full of Sturm und Drang, she records her feelings and thoughts, but also her fantasies, wishes and desires in relentlessly open and explicit texts.
When her mother and grandmother read the texts, they are initially shocked by the intimate content, but soon recognize the literary potential. As they debate whether to publish it, all three women are confronted with their own unfulfilled dreams and longings.
With OSLO STORIES, acclaimed Norwegian filmmaker and writer Dag Johan Haugerudb presents a film trilogy like no other. LOVE (Venice Competition 2024), DREAMS (Berlinale Competition 2025) and SEEKING (Berlinale Panorama 2024) are three independent films, each with new characters and an independent story. All three are addictive. Separate from each other, they each take a new look at the things that determine our lives. They tell of love, longing and dreams, question identity, gender and sexuality, and use fascinating characters and clever dialog to create clever and approachable utopias of how we could live together.
This film will be shown as part of the "Queer Monday" series.
Part of the summer open-air cinema program at Cine k, which takes place at nightfall on the Kulturplatz behind the Kulturetage.
