overexposed/underexposed

In the organizer's words:

Video installation by Daniel Asadi Faezi and Mila Zhluktenko

With the video installation overexposed/underexposed , Mila Zhluktenko and Daniel Asadi Faezi examine eight places in Munich that have a history of terrorist violence. People were killed, injured and traumatized at these locations scattered across the city for right-wing extremist, racist and anti-Semitic motives. Some of the crimes are known far beyond the city limits, others are still not anchored in the collective memory. Clarification of these crimes and remembrance of the victims is still being struggled for in some cases. Each act of terror has its own complicated history and yet they are related to each other. A network of partly invisible lines also connects the events with the National Socialist past.

overexposed/underexposed creates a concentrated space that allows people to pause and reflect. How can a city come to terms with these terrorist attacks together? How can the victims be remembered? The camera captures the eight locations one after the other at the time of each attack. The result is a continuous narrative that follows the course of a day and brings the past events to mind.
