OWN IT! Sich den Raum nehmen

In the organizer's words:

"Own it!" - JES is calling on you to do this three times this season: Take up space, take up a space that is otherwise not part of your reality. We are talking about young dance enthusiasts between the ages of 16 and 23 with a history of migration.

The second of the three projects will take place in April in the main hall of the JES, or more precisely, in the grandstand. A double change of perspective: young people who are usually passive spectators in the theater become active and look at the theater. Above all, however, they look at themselves and their role in society. Playfully and through dance, they talk about their lives, about the path they and their families have taken. They talk about their pride in this history, their families' achievements, their language and their reality. They talk about the long road to building resilience.

They will be accompanied on this journey by JES dance and theater teacher Angélica Duarte Topfstedt and freelance dancer and choreographer Naemi Makiadi, who is a member of the artist collective "ReCollect", among others.
