Inspired by the true story of FEMEN co-founder Oksana Shachko, OXANA - MY LIFE FOR FREEDOM paints a moving portrait of a rebel who risked everything between art and the fight for freedom.

Ukraine, 2008: Oxana and her friends paint their bodies with slogans, wear wreaths of flowers and rebel against the system. This is how FEMEN is born - one of the most influential feminist movements in recent history.
Paris, ten years later: On the opening day of her art exhibition, Oxana wanders through the city, meets lovers, talks to a journalist and fights for her refugee status. Memories of her fearless demonstrations catch up with her. The women protested bare-chested against sexism, corruption and police violence and warned against pro-Russian politicians early on.
