Puerto Rican-born Pachy García started playing guitar at a young age, but his growing interest in early Jamaican music led him to switch to piano and bass instead. It wasn't until he moved to Los Angeles that he began to teach himself to play the drums. It was at this time that he formed the band Prettiest Eyes and began collecting cheap recording equipment that he found in thrift stores and music stores.
Once he had enough equipment to make his own recordings in his basement, Pachy began recording music to pay homage to the early reggae pioneers he had grown up with. He named the studio "333 House" and began to learn the techniques of the engineers who had shaped the sound of early dub reggae, particularly Scientist and King Tubby. The recording process of the music was documented on his Instagram account with videos of him playing each instrument and finally mixing the end result into a single live dub take. We are really looking forward to seeing the ultra-sympathetic Pachy again on 21.05.25 at the Knust.
