Panel: Demokratie und Popmusik – Wie politisch sollte Popmusik sein? @Chance Festival

As part of the 4th edition of the Chance Festival in the idyllic Düsseldorf Hofgarten, the German-French TV channel Arte will present our first panel on September 7 at 3:50 pm on the Dialogue Stage in front of the Theatermuseum auf der Wiese.

We will be discussing the role of pop music in political movements and social change. To what extent should and can pop music get involved in political debates? What influence does it have on democracy and political participation? We will look at historical examples and current trends to answer the question of how political pop music should be and what responsibility artists bear.
