About the exhibition:
February 24, 2025 marks the third anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. To mark this occasion, the St. Matthew's Foundation, in cooperation with the Ukrainian Institute and the Polish Institute Berlin, is presenting the exhibition "24-2=2022" by Ukrainian artist Alevtina Kakhidze and Polish artist Renata Rara Kaminska in St. Matthew's Church.
The war, which began in February 2014 with the occupation of the Crimean Peninsula, has changed Europe and the world - not only in terms of politics, but also in people's souls. To mark the anniversary of the war of aggression, Polish artist Renata Rara Kaminska and Ukrainian artist Alevtina Kakhidze have joined forces to make an artistic statement. For St. Matthew's Church, they have created a space-specific installation around the theme of "borders" - a dialog between the artists, with the history of their home countries and with the church space, which can be understood as a resonating space of hope.
