Nature play by Verena Regensburger and Netzwerk Münchner Theatertexter*innen

The Panzerwiese meadow in the north of Munich - an ambivalent place full of history, where nature and man constantly interweave, form synergies or repel each other. In a collective writing process, the Netzwerk Münchner Theatertexter:innen (NMT) explores these interactions with director Verena Regensburger.

"Can I make the landscape the protagonist of an adventure in which people play only one role alongside others?" Katrin Diehl, Jan Geiger, Denijen Pauljević, Theresa Seraphin and Rinus Silzle explore this question in their texts ranging from prose to poetry - the development of the play builds on this process: a nature play.

PANZER WIESE is aimed at all those whose concern is to give nature a fundamental role in the future.

The Münchner Theatertexter*innen network was founded in 2016 and has received optional funding in the field of theater since 2021. The collective management team consists of the authors of this production. The NMT has set itself the goal of strengthening the role of the text and authors in the independent theater scene.

Verena Regensburger is a theater director and author. She completed her studies in theater studies as well as language, literature and culture at the LMU Munich with an academic thesis on the role of the audience as co-actor. She worked as an assistant director at the Münchner Kammerspiele from the 2014/15 season (Johan Simons) to 2016/17 (Matthias Lilienthal). Her final production "LUEGEN" has been invited several times to national and international festivals such as No-Limits, Berlin and Santiago a Mil, Chile. As a freelance director, she realizes projects at municipal and state theaters such as the Münchner Kammerspiele, the Residenztheater or the Theater Bonn as well as in the independent scene in Germany, Switzerland or as part of her Goethe-Institut residency in Bangalore, India. In 2022/23 she will take on a teaching position for theater practice at the LMU Munich. From 2023 to 2025, she will be Artistic Director of Freie Bühne München. For her artistic work to date, she has been awarded the "Förderpreis für Theater 2024" by the City of Munich. Director Verena Regensburger is characterized by her strong interest in the scenic exploration of different aspects of communication - her projects engage in dialogue across generations, genres and urban spaces.
