Two train stations, five artists, forty-one picture frames, just as many works of art in them and a special kind of exhibition for two hours.
Empowering oneself, taking something out of oneself - that has always been the important impulse of graffiti artists and spontaneous artists in public space.
But what was literally taken out here were the commercial advertising posters from the removable aluminum frames in two S-Bahn stations. Replaced by the art of five artists. What they all have in common is their many years of working in public spaces.
The interplay between wall and frame, art and advertising, everyday life and vernissage also creates an interaction between the art and the surrounding elements. Above all, however, with the people passing by, pausing, contemplating, an interaction that only takes place outside galleries and museums, in everyday life.
The works shown at the train stations now find their place in a temporary exhibition in the Bilker Bunker: The art is outside - from 22.05. to 25.05.25.
Positions will be presented by: Ben Mathis, Äpe152, Sven Albert, KJ 263, abcdef, m.0.5.k, Tm Schmeer, Magic, Creepkollektiv, Gerd, Olga, Zeichentier, Giza, Vertigo, Rumi Benecke, Daniil Sonntag.
