Parklücke Festival: Total Hip Replacement & Anyankofo

Total Hip Replacement & Anyankofo is a special Danish-Ghanaian supergroup known for their energetic and unique live concerts. The band playfully moves between rousing reggae rhythms and soulful highlife. The project kicked off in full force in 2021-22 with the release of the album "Anyankofo", featuring legends such as Pat Thomas, Kwame Yeboah and Rocky Dawuni.

2022 and 2023 were explosive years for the band, with an extensive release tour through Ghana, Greenland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Poland and France - over 120 concerts and thousands of enthusiastic listeners. Both the album and the live shows received high praise from the trade press, with positive reviews in magazines and radio such as GAFFA (Denmark's biggest music magazine), RIDDIM (DE), SONGLINES (UK), COSMO WDR (DE). The band was awarded a Danish Grammy as "Live Act of the Year" in 2021. Performances at major festivals such as Bout Du Monde (FR), Reggae Jam (DE), Ostroda Reggae Festival (PL) and Tempo Latino (FR) as well as sold-out headlining shows in Denmark underline their success.

Together with producer Kwame Yeboah and renowned Ghanaian musicians from the bands of Pat Thomas and Ebo Taylor, the band brings the sound of highlife to their powerful reggae machine. "Anyankofo" embodies the band's vision of collaborating with musicians from diverse backgrounds, crossing borders and building bridges through music and friendship. Musically, the band combines reggae, highlife, afrobeat, dub and soul into a bold mix. Live, a nine-piece formation takes to the stage with a tight brass section and infectious energy.

In spring 2024, the band returned to Ghana to record new songs - deepening the collaboration and inviting new exciting features into the project. These new tracks will be released in 2025 when the group embarks on a major European tour.
