Parkmusik für Herrenhausen • Georg Friedrich Haas

In the organizer's words:

When a 350th birthday is celebrated, the serenade should be suitably grand. To mark the occasion, the KunstFestSpiele have brought together a total of 160 musicians to celebrate the Great Garden!

One of the most important living composers of our time, Georg Friedrich Haas, is coming to Hanover for this tailor-made musical spectacle. He has adapted and reworked the work, written in 2022, for the Herrenhausen Gardens. Under the direction of Stephan Meier, the musical forces from the city and the region will ensure a real happening!

A total of four wind orchestras, supplemented by the Neue Ensemble from Hanover, will be involved. Haas will move large masses of sound back and forth in the Great Garden with predetermined choreographies. From various positions in the parterre of the garden, they will come together in front of the palace to form a large hyper-orchestra, before moving away in different directions towards the end.

This park music is a hymn to a place that is unique. And so this music can only be experienced once. It is tailored to the Great Garden - and even the large bell fountain is allowed to play along.

Happy birthday Herrenhausen Gardens!
