PARTING GYFTS und SLOWKISS

A mixture of glitter and tears - that's Parting Gyfts. On January 11, 2025, the indie rock/post-punk band from Hanover will be celebrating the release of their long-awaited first EP "Past // Reflection". The band invites you to the release show at LUX and promises an evening full of surprises, fun and emotional moments.

Parting Gyfts were founded in 2022 and conquered the first live stages just one year later with their captivating stage presence. The band won second place at the SIXPACK band contest in Hanover at their second appearance in 2023 and have since played at festivals such as Bruits de la Cave and Skate & Destroy. In their shows, Parting Gyfts combine raw energy with a unique aesthetic - in Bowie style, they deliberately break down gender roles and clichés, which they also express visually in their stage outfits. Kissed by melancholy, Parting Gyfts paint a musical landscape with driving dynamics and introspective lyrics in a post-punk style. Catchy, indie rock-influenced melodies complete the sound.

Parting Gyfts will celebrate the EP release on January 11th together with the band Slowkiss from Chile as Very Special Guest.

Slowkiss is a rock band from Chile that combines the dark noise of shoegaze with the heaviness of alt-rock, metal and grunge, without being afraid to experiment with styles that reflect influences from the 80s, 90s and 2000s. The band uses a similar gritty vibe and powerful sound of icons like Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins or Hole, but with a fresh twist and a modern message to the world.

The band is driven by a strong feminist ethos thanks to Elisa Montes, whose raw vocals and powerful guitar work illuminate the situation of women in the music business with gritty realism. Together with drummer Richi Pozo, Slowkiss captivate audiences with intense performances and have left an indelible impression on stages around the world since their debut "The Cliff". With their new album "K.O", Slowkiss continue to push boundaries and create music that revitalizes the spirit of alternative rock worldwide.
