Patriarchy is a band fronted by notorious LA songwriter and director Actually Huizenga. It explores the soft underbelly of sex, power, subversion and death - where desire and fear inevitably intertwine.
Not afraid to confront audiences with visceral, somewhat disturbing live performances, Patriarchy combine NSFW carnage with sounds that range from infectious electronic dance to crushing industrial metal to suffocating experimental noise.
A year after their successful debut European tour, Patriarchy return to revisit some of their favorite places, most notably the Netherlands for Roadburn Fest, and destroy some new cities along the way, including their first ever shows in the UK.
Since their last visit, Patriarchy have released Forcefully Rearranged, a collection of 16 remixes that are taking over DJ sets worldwide - featuring remixes from some of the most popular names in the industrial and dark wave scene: The Soft Moon, Choke Chain, Automelodi, Choke Chain, Mvtant, Odonis Odonis, Rhys Fulber, Spike Hellis and many more.
In addition to new music coming out early this year, a slot at the coveted Cruel World Festival and a brand new live set, she recently welcomed her first child into the world, a son named Winter Aurelius.
Of the experience, she said, "The motto of the last album (The Unself) was 'I fear the things I want most...' and giving birth proved to be the ultimate incarnation of those words. I've now experienced the ideal female achievement of the patriarchy and I've enjoyed it, plus my boobs have doubled in size - my milk will be available at the merch table, but it won't be cheap."
