PELICAN

Pelican has always been a band that's not just from Chicago, but definitely from Chicago. Formed in 2000 by guitarists Trevor Shelley de Brauw and Laurent Schroeder-Lebec and brothers Bryan and Larry Herweg on bass and drums, respectively, Pelican was founded on the rule-free, genre-agnostic scene synonymous with the Fireside Bowl. "The '90s in Chicago was a game for everyone. Everyone was coming from a place of pure creativity," says Shelley de Brauw. With the return of Schroeder-Lebec to the band after the departure of Dallas Thomas in 2022, the band was able to recapture the spirit of their formative era with this reunited version of Pelican and create something entirely new with Flickering Resonance.
