PERFORMANCE: Die Schreie der Wande: Tanzperformance im ehemaligen Gestapo-Gefängnis

The screams of the wall: dance performance in the former Gestapo prison

In a performance developed especially for the EL-DE House, Korean artist and choreographer Nayoung Kim (Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch), costume designer Elisabeth Bertelsmann, five dancers and a singer will perform in the former Gestapo prison and the inner courtyard. Dance becomes the medium for communicating between the past, present and future at these two sites of Nazi terror. In addition to German history, it is also about a dialog between Japan, which was allied with Nazi Germany, and Korea, which suffered greatly under Japanese occupation. The performance includes two video projections by Japanese artist Linn Aoki, with whom Nayoung Kim is collaborating to find artistic ways of reconciliation between Japan and Korea.
