Heart-warmingly beautiful
For over twenty years, children all over the world have known and loved the adventures of little cat Findus and his human friend Pettersson. But it's not just children, but also many adults, who have come to appreciate the loving and imaginative stories of quirky old Pettersson and his curious cat Findus. The Junges Theater Bonn is showing the best story by Swedish illustrator and children's book author Sven Nordqvist for children aged 4 and over.
A friend for Pettersson
Pettersson lives a rather lonely and solitary life on his old farm, tinkering with inventions that mostly don't work. One day, his neighbor has the idea of getting him a companion. Pettersson doesn't want to know anything about it. He likes to be alone - or so he claims. But when one day a little cat looks at him with big eyes from a green box, Pettersson can't help himself and takes him in.
Like all kittens, Findus is quite wild and often cheeky, but Pettersson loves him far too much to be seriously angry with him when something gets broken. The two of them enjoy life, Findus makes friends with all the other animals on the farm and Pettersson is quite happy not to be so alone any more.
The problem with the cockerel
But then Caruso, a singing rooster, comes to the farm. And suddenly nothing is the way it used to be. All the hens have eyes only for the cocky rooster. Findus the cat no longer understands the world. After all, he used to be the cock of the walk. And anyway, why do these stupid hens suddenly need a cockerel? And then there's the crowing. It starts when Findus hasn't even woken up yet. And then it goes on all day - again and again and again. While the powerful rooster song impresses the chickens immensely, Findus gets really annoyed by the screaming. Every morning it wakes him from his sleep. Findus can't go on like this and thinks about how he can get rid of Caruso and his screaming.
