Sarah Kane radically deconstructs the ancient "Phaedra" myth and applies it to the post-modern era with abysmal humor. Hippolytus, the coveted stepson of Queen Phaedra, is an anti-hero addicted to sex, food and screens in Kane's play, only interested in the power of manipulation, which he equates with truth. This royal family is marked by incest and driven by a longing for death. Director Robert Borgmann is known for his theatrical installations. Based on the distinct musicality of Sarah Kane's language, he composes and performs music to the text live. The actress Stefanie Reinsperger is at the center of the production.
