Singer/songwriter Andreas Lambert sings his own contemporary German lyrics to well-known, mainly jazzy compositions by Abbey Lincoln, Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Herbie Hancock, Carla Bley, Thelonius Monk, Wayne Shorter, Sonny Rollins, Pat Metheny and songs by Sting, Elvis Costello and many others.
The new German lyrics deal with doctor games and spin the bottle, children's shrines in the moonlight, Kölle in the spring, whores in the dim light, the circle room, love, death, grief, friendship, childhood memories, old people's homes, bullying, longing, child abuse, Hoss Cartwright's soup, war and peace, midlife crisis, dream woman, the mysticism of eternal change, fidelity, infidelity and runaway cats, in short, about life and the experiences associated with it, creating partly colorful and partly dark images in the mind.
