Photography workshop - Sun and water: Blue!
Photography without a camera for young and old
Photography without a camera? Find out how during an exciting afternoon in the Mediapark. We will take a look back at the beginnings of photography and try out the old technique of cyanotype. First, objects are arranged on light-sensitive paper in a darkened room. The individual works of art are exposed to sunlight or our UV light sources alone. Depending on the intensity of the light, this can take up to 30 minutes. The paper is then soaked. All areas that have been exposed to light turn blue. Where the objects lay on the paper, their shadows become visible as white shapes and patterns. An exciting moment!
We provide materials such as dried plants, feathers, buttons etc. and cyanotype paper in A4 format. You are also welcome to bring your own materials. Please allow some waiting time between the individual work steps. Marie-Luise Wulf (photographer) and Frank Breuer (photographer) will explain how to do it and accompany the workshop.
Duration: until 6 pm
Location: Im Mediapark 7, Cologne, side entrance on the left of the building
