Symposium as part of PLANET EARS - rethink international music

"Performing Archives" explores the concept of archives and how personal and collective histories can be documented, shared and transformed into art. The workshop combines hands-on artistic activities with conversations about the importance of archiving in marginalized communities. We will archive personal stories in media such as textiles, sound collages, sketches or poetry, creating our own archives. Please bring personal objects, sound recordings, books or photos.

Leader: Rim Irscheid.
Open to: BiPoC and people with a history of migration.

The workshop will be held in English with German translation.

("Performing Archives" explores the concept of archives and how personal and collective histories can be documented, shared, and transformed into art. The workshop will blend practical art-making activities with discussions on the importance of archiving within marginalized communities. In sharing different ways personal stories can be archived and stored in mediums like textiles, sound collages, sketches or poetry, we will create our own archives. Therefore please bring personal items, recordings, books, or photos.

Open to: BiPoC and individuals with a migration background.
