A Japanese sensory intoxication with film & onigiri

Recorder star Stefan Temmingh opens the evening with the expressive and contrasting solo work "Mudai" by Japanese composer Fumiharu Yoshimine, accompanied by his colleagues from the Nuovo Aspetto ensemble playingso-called grounds on salterio, harp, lute, cello and harpsichord. Grounds are constantly repeating harmonic patterns that are played around in variations by the different instruments. In the carousel of chords, the musicians can improvise freely on the playground of the grounds - provided they follow a few rules.

After onigiri and tea, the evening continues with a highlight of Japanese cinema: the genre persiflage "Tampopo" revolves around the search for the best noodle soup. Collage-like, intelligent and rich in quotations, Jūzō Itami's work belongs to postmodern cinema, but above all invites you to laugh.
