As citizens of Düsseldorf, we cordially invite you to take part in an important discussion! Together with the participants of the panel discussion, we would like to shed light on the topic of anti-Muslim racism from different perspectives and find solutions for a fairer society.

What is anti-Muslim racism?
Anti-Muslim racism is a form of discrimination that is directed against people who are disadvantaged because of their affiliation to Islam or perceived Muslim background. This racism manifests itself in many ways - from prejudice and stereotypes to open hate speech and violent attacks. It affects not only Muslims, but also people who are misidentified as Muslim because of their appearance or name.

Why is it important to talk about it?
Anti-Muslim racism is one of the fastest growing forms of discrimination in Europe and also in Germany. Unfortunately, it is often played down or not sufficiently addressed. This discussion offers an important opportunity to counteract this, share perspectives and work together in solidarity to recognize and overcome racist structures.
