March 21 is a special day: it is both World Poetry Day and the International Day against Racism - let's celebrate! The Heidelberg-based magazine for literature & art Pigeon Publishing invites you to listen to English-language poems over a leisurely coffee at its headquarters. The best submissions from an open call will be read out, with which the magazine has been searching for an international examination of the topic of "intimacy" since January. The aim is to approach as wide a range of human intimacy as possible: from physicality and ecstasy to disgust and sadness, queer life, friendship and romance.

Between the short readings, there will be an opportunity for a relaxed exchange with each other and with the authors. Delicious cakes, coffee specialties and cool drinks can be purchased at the Clara's bar. The event lasts approx. 2 hours, arriving later or leaving earlier is no problem.

Pigeon Publishing is a magazine for literature, art & culture from Heidelberg that focuses on queerfeminist issues, cultural trauma and life under neoliberal capitalism. Always somewhere between angry and sad - but hopeful. Since its founding in January 2024, the magazine has been available primarily online at www.pigeonpublishing.de or on Instagram @pigeon_publishing as well as at regularly organized readings at various locations.
