Poetica 10 - »Was alles hat Platz in einem Gedicht?« Lesungen, Gespräche und Musik mit Michael Krüger, Lebogang Mashile, Yoko Tawada und Aki Takase

If there is one author who can prove that more than one language fits into a poem, and that a playful approach to a subject such as grammar can lead to unimagined pleasures, then it is Yoko Tawada, whose art oscillates between Japanese and German. Her congenial musical partner is Aki Takase on the grand piano. Regardless of whether it is rail replacement services or unsuitable passes - her virtuosity succeeds in the magic of connecting everything in sound spaces.
The texts by poet and performer Lebogang Mashile show how poems create a "space between me and us". Celebrated and loved worldwide and in her home country of South Africa for the hymnal-critical undertow of her poems, she sings of the "daughters of tomorrow" and the departure of thought into free spaces beyond all categories, because: "I will not live in boxes/ They are not my home".
Not only has Michael Krüger published the most important poets of recent decades with Hanser, not only has he cultivated friendly relations with the greats of world poetry, no, his own poems have long been a part of it. Krüger's precise observations - the epic of his own childhood grows out of his grandfather's potatoes, dialogues with the forest find a new alphabet - are the material for enchanting poetic reflections, as wistful as they are witty, about, of course: everything.
