Event tip: "Poetry For Rescue" enters its fourth round

The civilian sea rescue organization SOS Humanity is once again inviting people to the slam-tested hall of Haus 73 this year. The fourth "Poetry For Rescue" will take place on May 19, 2025 from 7.30 pm. Admission is on a donation basis.

Poetry meets protest: Visitors can expect exciting contributions from Hamburg scene greats and newcomers with slams on topics relating to identity, migration and flight. "In times of increasing isolation and discriminatory rhetoric, we want to help give these topics a platform, but of course also spend an enjoyable and interesting evening together," explains the volunteer group. Admission is on a donation basis.

The Hamburg volunteer group of the German sea rescue organization SOS Humanity e.V. launched the "Poetry For Rescue" format in 2022. With this series of events, the activists call for "more humanity" every year. The civilian sea rescue organization SOS Humanity is committed to ensuring that no one has to drown while fleeing. Its work and life-saving missions in the central Mediterranean are supported by civil solidarity movements and financed by donations. The proceeds of the "Poetry For Rescue" will benefit the saving, protecting, witnessing and changing activities of SOS Humanity.
