Poetry Slam‐Reihe Salzmannslam (SMS): Rap Slam zum feministischen Kampftag

The rap slam enters its 3rd round!

As you've come to expect from the "Salzmannslam" event series, 6 great poets will once again be taking to the stage with their self-written lyrics - but they'll be bringing their lyrical talent and banging beats with them. In other words: it's hip hop in the house!

As 8 March is International FLINTA* Day of Struggle, it goes without saying that only women, non-binary and trans* people will be taking to the stage. Among others, we will have visitors from Hamburg. The colorful line-up will be announced soon. Come along if you're still missing a bit of culture after the demos or a cozy day at home and celebrate the feminist day of struggle and all the fantastic rappers with us! (The event is of course open to all genders).

Salzmannslam SMS: Poetry slam is the most modern and probably most entertaining way to disseminate literature orally. In this type of modern poetry competition, in which the poets perform their self-written texts in a time limit of 6 minutes, the audience can democratically evaluate the texts they hear with applause (and decide on the victory or defeat of the competition participants). Poetry slam is becoming increasingly popular all over the world - including in North Hesse. It offers a wide range of opportunities for personal expression for the artists themselves and a variety of facets of perception for the audience. At the SMS aka Salzmannslam, up to nine poets from all over Germany will present their texts.

The host of the Rap Slam format this year is the Kassel rapper and beatmaker Lebensmittelmüde. He has been performing his own songs on stages in all corners of Germany for four years, regularly releases songs on Spotify and co. and regularly organizes hip-hop events in the district of Kassel to heat up the dreamy northern Hesse. On March 8, a FLINTA* person will represent him as a presenter.
