Potsdamer Tanztage 2025: Blue Carousel

Lisa Colette Bysheim and Edith Strand Askeland are in top form. Dressed in sportswear, they show what they can do to pulsating live techno: repetitive, almost restless movements with their arms, legs and eyelids. Initially emotionless, the duet gradually develops a captivating power - the exploration of the others becomes an intimate encounter, the poses become embraces.

Inspired by the mating rituals of the bird world and human codes of flirting, the two women create a powerful play of power and transformation - a satirical examination of the objectification of the female body. Two "birds of paradise" in a serious parade in which seduction, attraction and curiosity lead to unexpected confrontations. Blue Carousel is a playful, suggestive piece that humorously questions the social norm and challenges the absurdity of the unexpected.

Blue Carousel was selected for Aerowaves 2025.
