Renae Shadler & Roland Walter (Berlin)

Where does your body begin? Where does mine end? In this intimate and playful duet, Renae Shadler and Roland Walter explore our physical surface, the skin, as a permeable barrier between the inside and the outside - both boundary and point of contact.

In SKIN, the two performers find a common language of movement that challenges the usual notions of "mixed-abled" choreography. With their bodies and the objects in the space, they create unusual sculptures that open up a new perception for the audience. Inspired by the properties of sea anemones, liquids and the surfaces of the earth, SKIN creates a world in which there is no difference between more or less "able" bodies.

Recommended for ages 10 and up.

SKIN was selected for the Dance Platform Germany 2022 and Aerowaves 2021.
