The course: The travel photography workshop with award-winning travel photographer Thorge Berger offers practical tips and valuable knowledge to take your travel photography to the next level. You will learn how to bring back impressive photos from your next trip through good planning, the right equipment and well thought-out image composition. The workshop will look at the various subjects of travel photography, such as landscape, street, architecture, people and wildlife photography.
We will discuss what you should look out for on location and how professionals think about post-processing when taking photos in order to get the best out of their pictures. Illustrative picture examples from Thorge Berger's 40 years of experience illustrate the theory, supplemented by practical tips. From planning to photography to post-processing, all steps are covered and there is plenty of time for your questions. In addition to the theory, the workshop also includes a practical part where you will go out photographing together with Thorge Berger and discuss the results constructively afterwards.

Thorge Berger: Born in Cologne in 1966, he studied musicology, German and English and initially made a career in the music industry. He has been a travel photographer for over 40 years and has traveled to more than 50 countries on five continents. American photographer Steve McCurry said of him during a joint trip to India: "Thorge has a real passion for his photography and a tireless curiosity to explore this amazing world we live in."
Since 2012, Thorge Berger has combined his passion as a travel photographer with professional lectures, workshops, seminars and photo tours. His lecture "IRAN - Bent Beauty" was awarded 3rd place as best travel lecture at the renowned El Mundo Festival in 2021. Thorge Berger has been a member of the board of the GBV (Gesellschaft für Bild und Vortrag e.V.) since the beginning of 2023. His photos, reports and articles are regularly published in trade journals, and in 2021 his two books "Reisefotografie: Praxisnahe Profi-Tipps - von der Planung bis zur Nachbearbeitung" and "IRAN - Zwei Freunde. Two cultures. One discovery."
