PRÉLUDE À L'APRÈS-MIDI D'UN FAUNE
From the spirit of Stéphane Mallarmé springs the faun, a creature of extremes, crossed between reality and dream, soul and matter, civilized and wild - caught in the dance between Apollonian and Dionysian. Guest choreographer Maša Kolar's interpretation goes even further and anchors the faun in contemporary reality. Here he becomes self-absorbed, deeply introspective, chooses a solitary, dreamy existence and avoids the complexity and disturbances of others.
In PARADE by Eric Satie, the choreographer conjures up the uncertain and devastating events of 1917 and reflects the destructive energy that threatens to shatter our present. In combining the two pieces, Kolar weaves a tapestry of complementary contrasts - intimate and social, unconscious and rational - and captures the turbulent spirit of the era, which encompasses the time before and during the First World War... and points to today.
LE SACRE DU PRINTEMPS
In his interpretation of the Sacre, Francesco Nappa locates the events of a group of individuals in a landscape characterized by both the past and new beginnings - a primeval place as a symbol of explosive power and at the same time the memory of ancestors. Localized between ashes and visions from a distant past, tensions, alliances and conflicts arise. Some urgently wish to rebuild something, others fight for pure survival. The boundaries between the need to act and sacrificing something or someone to do so become increasingly fragile. The pulse of the earth echoes through the bodies and transforms every existence into inescapable rituals. In this existential culmination, only one question remains: is this the eternal cycle of nature or the final end of what once was?
