How could a piece of field appear in a theater - not as a landscape in the background, but as an equal actor alongside people and other living beings? The polyphonic "feldfuge" takes up this challenge. Its protagonists accept the invitation of a beetroot field. They dig their way through different soil horizons, create a mutual network of care and thus come ever closer to the earth. But the ecological harmony easily tips over into ethnic fantasy ...
With the help of ground microphones, a newly invented language and memories from an old Hessian village, the mystery of the field is explored. Grains of text and sound, from highway expansion to weather chronicles, seep along in constant deceleration. Between rituals, interviews and arias, a philosophical and entertaining experiment is created.
