Justine Bauer tells a funny and tragic, touching and powerful story about a summer in the lives of women in the countryside.

Anna is pregnant and thinking about castration. Katinka may not be able to become a farmer and wears her bikini in the milking parlor. But grandma's tomatoes are better than ever this year. A summer on dying farms. In her multi-award-winning debut film, Justine Bauer tells the story of a summer in the countryside - sensual, quiet and full of questions about origins, responsibility and the future. Katinka (Karolin Nothacker), a young woman, struggles to carry on her family's farm. With her, female characters come to the fore who not only cope with the agricultural reality, but also shape it - above all her mother (Johanna Wokalek) and grandmother (Lore Bauer), who embody continuity and lived experience as a generational group - as well as Katinka's sisters and Anna (Pauline Bullinger), with whom she spends every free minute in the river.
