In the organizer's words:

Likeable comedy about British miners who are unexpectedly supported in their year-long strike by gay and lesbian activists from London.

To fight against the mine closures and privatization decided by Margaret Thatcher's government, the miners of a Welsh village also go on strike. They receive unexpected and not necessarily welcome support from a small gay and lesbian activist group from London, who are collecting donations for the miners. When the urban exoticists visit the village, prejudices take hold and distance prevails at first, until it is discovered that there are far more similarities than differences.
