A warm welcome. Come in! Celebrate with us, listen to music with us, think with us about love, about despair, about the fear of loneliness - and about courage. Because sometimes it takes great courage to show your true self. Together with the new ensemble members of Schauspiel Hannover and an international dance ensemble, author and director Falk Richter explores stories about pride and shame, about life as a queer person and about the fears and hopes that come with coming out. The media crossover production "PRIDE" invites the Hanover audience on an impressive journey through Germany's (and Lower Saxony's) history of resistance, invisibility and the present. The achievements and current threats to the fight for the equality and freedom of all people are told by a diverse ensemble from different generations and with different perspectives - creating a multi-layered, intimate portrait of Germany in the fall of 2025.

Falk Richter, who himself grew up in Buchholz, Lower Saxony and moved out to become one of Europe's most exciting directors, is a master when it comes to linking the private with the political. He succeeds in creating a chronicle of the present from personal and fictional stories. As an author and director, he is always touching, approachable, political and humorous at the same time - most recently in his production "The Silence", which was invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen, in which he set out in search of the reasons for the silence that shaped his childhood and youth in the Nordheide.

The world premiere took place at the Royal Danish Theater in Copenhagen in 2021.
