Tessa, a young criminal lawyer, has unquestioning faith in the right and wrong of the law. As a woman who has worked her way up from working-class child to top lawyer, she believes in the inherent rightness of the system. Based on these principles, she defends men who are accused of sexual assault and wins her cases: one after the other. Until she herself experiences that the law does not protect her from assault. Until she herself becomes one of the women who can prove nothing. Prima facie - "until further notice" - as long as there is no evidence to the contrary.
