Pro Jazz e.V. is pleased to announce the return of the Pro Jazz Festival after a long time. On 20.12.2024 we will open the doors of the domicil for all jazz enthusiasts in Dortmund. The musical program of this one-day festival will feature four bands from the association: The Frank Wunsch Trio, the Lilith Plus Saxophone Quartet with special guest, Omnibus Volume and the PHK Trio.
Apart from the music, Pro Jazz will also be presenting the life of the association to the Dortmund public on this wonderful day. Anyone who has always wanted to gain an insight into the decisions and processes of cultural volunteering is expressly invited to talk to the members during the Pro Jazz Festival.

Frank Wunsch Trio
The trio's repertoire alternates pieces by Frank Wunsch, such as "Joana's Waltz", which reveal a proximity to classical music but can also be rhythmically gripping, with unconventional interpretations of jazz standards.
Finally, a piece like "Tristanos Traum" also offers the opportunity for free improvisation. In the music of the Frank - Wunsch - Trio there are also traces of intuitive
intuitive music, minimal music and influences from European composers such as John Dowland, Franz Schubert, Erik Satie and Alban Berg.

LILITH+
Next to the human voice, the saxophone is the most expressive instrument. "Everything is possible". This is the motto of the four saxophonists, who present the audience with a broad musical spectrum ranging from exquisite classical chamber music to jazz.
With the great drummer Benny Mokross, the Lilith Saxophone Quartet adds another rhythmic dimension. A colorful, grooving repertoire in the jazz and world area with more room for improvisation brings joy of playing and offers the inclined ear many new impressions.

Omnibus fucking Volume - RELEASE CONCERT
The most dangerous band in the Ruhr area releases its first record. "Omnibus fucking Volume One" is the name of this brilliant psychedelic deep jazz masterpiece. The world screams "SÜÜÜÜÜ"
The band Omnibus Volume is currently the talk of the town, not least because of their unforgettable performance at Cristiano Ronaldo's garden party. All of the band's members come from the Ruhr area and grew up here in domicil. Omnibus Volume's music moves between groovy space avant-garde jazz and catchy, almost kitschy melodies.

phk.trio
The phk.trio plays modern emotional music, located somewhere on the jazz periphery. Founded in December 2019 around Dortmund pianist Peter H. Köcke, the trio searches for ways to combine fully composed passages with free tonal improvisation to create an appealing work of art that takes musicians and audiences on a journey into themselves. The genre-breaking fusion moves, touches and inspires.
