Harmonia Leipzig e.V. presents "Progresión" - A concert for symphonic wind ensemble
Music is never static - it flows, drives, connects and changes. With our new concert program "Progresión", we make this constant change audible and take our audience on a sonic journey through times, cultures and forces of nature.
Each work on this evening tells a story of progress: Ottorino Respighi's "Antique Airs and Dances" lets old lute melodies shine in new splendor, while Camille Saint-Saëns unites Western and Oriental sounds in a rousing dialogue in "Orient et Occident". Philip Sparke's Symphony No. 1 traces the unstoppable force of the elements in impressive soundscapes - from gentle flow to stormy energy. Finally, with Alfred Reed's "El Camino Real", our orchestra follows the "royal road" of Spanish music full of passionate rhythms and fiery melodies.
Music transcends borders and connects the past with the future - this is exactly what we want to bring to life with "Progresión". You can look forward to a concert full of dynamism, emotion and exciting soundscapes. Let us take you on a journey of progress - we look forward to seeing you!
